Colonel Simon Brooks-Ward LVO OBE TD - Show Director

Simon Brooks-Ward has a wealth of nearly 20 years experience in producing and directing both military and equestrian shows and national events. Past production highlights include Deputy Producer of the Royal Military Tattoo 2000, involving over 2000 participants, planes and parachutists, Director of Army 2002 and Producer of the World War Two commemorations in 2005, which included a stage show with stars and celebrities for live television. He was also deputy producer at the Royal Tournament until its demise in 1999, and he will produce this year’s major national celebration, the Territorial Army’s 100^th Anniversary Celebrations in Horse Guards.

Simon himself is an active member of the TA and has seen service in the 2003 Iraq war as Commanding Officer of The Royal Yeomanry (the only TA Regiment to be awarded a Battle Honour in that conflict). He is now Colonel Yeomanry based at Headquarters Director Royal Armoured Corps.

As well as this, Simon has produced a number of current and past high profile equestrian events, including Olympia, the London International Horse Show, the Pavarotti International Show, the Al Maktoum Memorial Challenge (Dubai) and the Royal Windsor Horse Show. He was Equestrian Consultant to the Athens Olympics in 2004. Currently he is busy preparing for the European Dressage and Show Jumping Championships, which will be held in Windsor for the first time in 2009.

Dougie Squires - Artistic Director

His career spans over five decades and it is estimated that he has worked with over 10,000 dancers over that period. His creativity and energy has inspired a huge number of today’s top dancers, teachers, performers and choreographers.

Over the years Dougie has been involved with All the Queen’s Horses, a celebration of the Queen’s love of horses, the finale of Olympia, the London International Horse Show and the Pageant for the Queen Mother’s 100th Birthday on Horse guards Parade. His work has been seen on 10 Royal Command Performances, the spectacular Defence of the Realm, the Queen’s Fortieth Anniversary Celebrations at Earls Court, the phenomenally successful VE Celebrations in Hyde Park and the VJ Celebrations in Horse guards Parade, and the Rugby league Centenary World Cup with Diana Ross, all of which were televised internationally.

Working once again in collaboration with Major Sir Michael Parker on the Royal Golden Wedding Celebrations he then directed the Queen’s Jubilee Celebrations in Hyde Park and the Mall, and for six years directed the Not Forgotten Association Christmas Shows at St James Palace with many International stars. He has also previously teamed up with Simon Brooks-Ward at Horse guards Parade, directing the 50th Commemoration of the end of World War Two.

His skill and expertise in directing a cast of thousands is unsurpassed and he is one of the most sought after director/choreographers in the world of stage, theatre and television.

He was awarded the Carl Alan award for his contribution to progress in dance and in 2005 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the prestigious International Choreographers organisation.

Brigadier Melville Stewart Jameson CBE - Show Producer

Melville Jameson was Chief Executive and Producer of The Edinburgh Military Tattoo for 12 years, an event which has been sold out, at a total of around ¼ million tickets annually, for the last 9 years. The Edinburgh Military Tattoo attracts people from around the world and is seen annually by a worldwide audience of 100,000 million on Television.

Brigadier Jameson took the Edinburgh Tattoo to New Zealand in 2000 as part of the Wellington Festival, and to Sydney in 2005 performing to capacity audiences.

The Edinburgh Tattoo was greatly honoured to receive the Queens award for Business in 2007.

He most recently assisted a new Tattoo on Red Square in Moscow in September 2007 called Kremlin Zoria, a huge and spectacular event involving 700 Russian Military Musicians and 300 Pipers and Drummers from Great Britain and the Commonwealth.

Although Brigadier Jameson retired from the Edinburgh Tattoo in 2007, he has continued to act as a consultant and advisor to military musical events and tattoos around the world. He served with both the Royal Scots Greys and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, which he commanded from 1986-1988. He is presently Colonel of his Regiment.
